I recently visited Casela during my holiday in Mauritius with my fiancée, who is Polish, and we decided to try the lion interaction. While the activity itself was exciting, the experience was let down by poor communication.
The host (Anaïs) spoke primarily in French, offering very limited explanations in English. As someone who speaks both languages, I couldn’t help but notice that some people in the group, who seemed more like her friends, received more detailed explanations in French. This left the English-speaking participants, including my fiancée, feeling excluded and unwelcome. I had to translate everything for her, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the experience.

The direct presence and interactions with these glorious animals is mesmerizing and it kinda gives you this rush as you can feel this is real and the animals, although trained to respect, are still wild. That said, everything felt super safe the whole time, the handlers and our guide were great in all aspects, they were helpful and fun but also shared a lot of interesting facts about the animals, including some exciting real life demonstrations. The group was also joined by a professional photographer and the resulting photos were amazing. I really recommend this as it was one of the strongest and most unique experiences of our lives and a real highlight of our vacation. It is absolutely worth the money. You don't want to miss...
Read moreWalking with the lions was an unforgettable experience!!!! Never thought that me and my family would literally be walking with two lionesses. Holding their tails, stroking and giving them a good scratch. The pictures that were taken are a must to have, there to look at forever for the whole family. Steve the guide and his two buddies were great at their job and made the walk and the run up to it very pleasurable. The cameraman got all the shots in that you would ever want and they are available when you get home to download and keep. Can't really recommend this highly enough I suppose, it's a once in a lifetime and if you are visiting the zoo, book this so you...
