Entrance to the national forest. You can park your car there. There is also a information center. I can recommend going to the small river lake 1.5km far from the entrance. The path is easy and you can do it with small children. After 750m keep right if you want to go to the small lake. You can also swim there. The right way will lead you after 1h to a water fall. The path may be challenging for small children.

Free parking for the start of about 7/8 hikes. We did the waterfall one. Quite easy although very rocky so if your ankles are bad, we don’t recommend. 1h30 to go up and 1h to get down. Swimming in the waterfall. We saw tiny frogs, butterflies and lizards. We recommend if the weather is hot because there is always shade. Otherwise do one with a view if you prefer!

This is one of THE most beautiful forests to visit in Mauritius. Parking at the entrance gate to the park will give you a very easy 6km walk/run to the visitor centre and back again. The lush scenery is absolutely magical alongside the river with bird calls, sights of monkeys, a rare mongoose, frogs, butterflies and so much more to enhance your experience.

The trail in the park to the waterfall is easy although on cobbled stones so wear good shoes.

Best time of day is early if exercising as it gets hot and humid, but the entrance road is under shade so always doable. Highly...
