Smaller than the botanic gardens at Pampelmousse in the north, but seem to be better maintained. This garden does not have the range of specimen trees that you will find in the National Botanic Gardens, but the trees here are beautiful with a lot of bromeliads and parasite plants growing on them. There is a stream running through the gardens and also a pond with fish. The number of birds here is impressive and they add a lovely dimension to the space. This garden is home to the last remaining specimen of a type of palm tree. Sadly it is protected by wire fencing which means it doesn't look too attractive, but it is being looked after and attempts at propagation are ongoing. The facilities are good with toilets and lots of benches in shady locations. There is no kiosk or shop so bring your own picnic and refreshments. Take time to look at the details here, it is a very relaxing place...
