Nestled in the village of Cluny, the Eau Bleu hiking trail is a hidden gem that promises a captivating journey through dense forests, unveiling breathtaking natural wonders. As an avid hiker, my recent adventure along this trail left an indelible mark, showcasing the pristine beauty of Mauritius.
Equipping yourself with good hiking gear and sturdy shoes is paramount for the Eau Bleu trail. Additionally, carry an ample supply of water to stay hydrated throughout the journey. Given the lush environment, mosquito repellant spray or cream is a wise companion to ward off any unwelcome insect encounters.
The highlight of the Eau Bleu trail undoubtedly lies in its namesakeāthe crystal-clear waters that glisten like sapphires in the heart of the forest. Rivers, waterfalls, and lakes adorn the path, creating a symphony of nature's beauty that resonates throughout the hike.
After rainfall, the trail can become muddy, adding an element of challenge to the hike. Careful navigation is required to navigate slippery rocks, adorned with moss, that may pose a hazard. However, these challenges are a small price to pay for the grandeur that awaits at Eau Bleu.
The pièce de résistance of Eau Bleu is its inviting, crystal-clear water. After an invigorating hike, the opportunity to cool off in these pristine waters is a true reward. For the more adventurous, swimming and snorkeling reveal an underwater world that mirrors the beauty of the trail itself. However, be advised that the lakes and pools are quite deep and if you can't swim, then do not put yourself in danger.
In conclusion, the Eau Bleu hiking trail is a symphony of nature's finest elementsāa sensory feast for those seeking an immersive experience in Mauritius' wilderness. From challenging terrains to the awe-inspiring beauty of crystal-clear waters, every step on this trail is a testament to the island's natural splendor. Lace up your hiking boots, pack your essentials, and embark on a journey that will undoubtedly leave you enchanted...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing place, quiet with no tourists at all as not many people know the place and guide books won't have any information on it. We had a bit of trouble of reaching the five cascades as online info that we found was slightly confusing ( it said ... opposite the water treatment plant and no no no.... It is actually on the same side of the road as the water treatment plant but a mile DOWN the hill). So the best way of reaching it is ark the car somewhere in the sugar cane field near water treatment plant (ask locals for directions if u have any troubles), walk down the hill for a mile, so if you are walking down the curvy road the waterfall will be on your left. Wear good shoes and spray mosquito repellent. Have shorts ready for a swim as well. All the cuts and bruises were...
