Baladirou Beach — Attraction in Rodrigues

This beach is found within a 15 minutes' drive eastward from Port Mathurin, 5 minutes from Grand Baie. You may park near the round-about and go down the stairs to access the beach. However, beware of numerous thornbushes along the track leading to the beach. The short descent is worth the effort: the jagged coastline is spectacular in the afternoon. The beach itself is varied: fine pale-orange sand in the middle, basaltic rocks at either sides offering great rock-hoping adventures for kids and adults alike.
