Riambel Public Beach — Attraction in Surinam

Was there to to some snorkeling, but the local anglers started to shout at me when I was entering the water. We’ve spoken and they warned me it’s dangerous today. They said I should snorkel only in “this bay” for my safety - cause the back current today was very strong, and I shouldn’t even approach the reef line today. I listen ! The beach was totally empty when fishermens left. Beach is nice and heavier grain sandy, “bay”...

Not the best beach to go to, but it’s a nice long one if u don’t mind. It swimming.

Best time to go is during the dry season when the water is clear, as after it rains this area is usually flooded with brown river water, which make a great shark buffet.

Lots of river debris washes up...
