Best thing we've done here so far. Beautiful scenery with some stunning views over the gorges and waterfalls. The Macchabee Loop takes you right over the top of another waterfall with a drop of hundreds of feet with freedom to go as close to the edge as your stomach and nerve will allow. The route is very well pisted and largely easy going but the actual gorge section is steep both up and down and you need to be reasonably fit and sure footed. Loads of parking, no charge and well signed (although be alert to the alternative Macchabee routes). The final bonus is that at 600m odd, it's noticeably cooler than at sea level. If you are somewhat experienced hiker, you should clear it just fine - just a few slippery places where you need to pay extra attention.
