I played at this course today. Formerly known as the “Desert Course”, now called “Cabo Del Soul”. It won’t be public for much longer as they will become privatized by large hotel chains (American Fiesta and Four Seasons among others), so get a round in while you can. I had a fantastic time. Was treated like a special guest from start to finish. My green fee included drinks, food, warm up balls, powered golf cart, and well, the course speaks for itself. Impeccable maintenance, friendly attitudes, and a super challenge (I’m a mid capper player). Additionally, I had to rent clubs, since I was unable to take all my clubs. I was happy to receive a fully functional set of amazing Taylormade golf clubs. There is just nothing to find fault with. Everything was well above expectations and I’d recommend this golf experience to anyone in Cabo. It’s a must do, if you have any inclination to golf, even if you are a total hack. Take in the hot breeze, the serene views, and gorgeous layout. Each hole serves up its own little experience. The course itself, while being impeccably maintained etc etc, offered me a stiff challenge, but with enough good strikes, FIRs, and GIRs are all within reach. It’s the greens where this course will get you. Every green is not flat at any point. There is always slope, always breaks, and even a slight over putt will leave you back off the green chipping, or worst, funnelled into one the of million deep bunkers they got. The sand is soft and very easy to hit out of, but the placement of the bunkers is absolutely diabolical. You will not escape them, so prepare your 56 or 60 for a great work out. They have a grill at the 12th hole and the burgers were unreal. Good golf AND good food! How can you go wrong here?! As well, drinks, ice, water were unlimited and inclusive. There is even a small cooler on every golf cart. So you can keep it stocked with beer (and water, but mostly beer). The cart is preloaded with a Bluetooth touchscreen complete with mapping and yardages. It was cool to crank my own music in the cart. They also provided ball markers and tees. Taxi fare from my hotel to the course and back, was $52USD. (Staying at Riu Santa Fe, so pretty close proximity)

Disappointing... Course in rough shape Review for Cabo del Sol course (not Cove) Been waiting for the rennos on the new holes (most of back 9), opened in Nov and it's still not ready... (played Jan 28, 2023) They should not be charging anywhere near $250 (w tax - $285 USD) here or they shoud've waited for the greens and fairways to grow in. A lot of other public cabo courses in better shape. I don't mind paying a pricey green fee, but the experience and quality needs to be there... Don't love Cabo Real but I'd rather play there for the price Pamilla, or any of the questro courses. Front 9 / original course is in just ok shape TBH, many fairways are still brown and patchy. Greens are quick but also kinda patchy and ok. Would expect this for July / Aug, but not in Jan.... Back 9 / new rennos holes. Greens and faiways are not taking well... very patchy for new fairways which is concerning. Even looks like different grasses growing in so not sure how / why that happened. Greens are firm which is nice but they were a bit burnt out and patchy vs being healty and true. 15 is especially bad, was on the fringe and even my group said to take relieve because had to put thru clumpy / patches of grass to the hole (looked like bottoms of dandilions) felt like a Muni course. 12, 13, 14, 16 are also not in great shape. There is also almost zero landscaping on the new holes.... lot of barren sand. Was pretty shocked on how they didn't at least plant some shrubs / flowers / etc. Distance to holes is long... you can easily get lost and so long on 16-17 they even have an escort waiting because the drive is so long. No clubhouse - they're in shipping containers / temp housing - which they actually did a decent job with but limited space if you want to get a bite after or drink... pros - friendly service, challenging fun course, decent range, free sunblock, snacks on the back comfort station. great selection of swag in proshop. cons - course is not in good shape, even the old course and especially the new holes.... the grass is not taking well... hope the super has a good plan has figured out the issue. even with the Esperanza / Four Seasons discount of $225 - not worth the value. They need get this course in better shape and it'll be a fun place to play and then worth the money.... I would've taken more pictures but it wasn't worth sending to friends lol.

Went and played in early February 2024 and course was in pretty good shape. Definitely a great test even for a low handicapper. Tee boxes were all manicured in very sharp detail, fairways pretty tight with desert terrain for the rough - you really must try to keep your ball in the fairway otherwise it's not an easy task making any pars, and the greens were in excellent shape and were interesting to try and read. (When in doubt, everything breaks toward the ocean!) Staff was very friendly and accommodating and had great character. I forgot my Apple AirPods in the cup holder of the golf cart and the next morning I called to see if they could look and they went and searched the cart barn and were able to verify they had them and would hold onto them until I could get back over to retrieve. That person could've just as easily said they didn't have anything and gotten to keep a nice set of headphones, but they did the honest and right thing, and you don't find that very often anymore.

There's a handful of all inclusive and non all inclusive courses in the area that you'll want to checkout before deciding to play here. Definitely didn't live up to the hype and there's a great imbalance in the value / cost of playing here. The hospitality you receive here is definitely what you would expect paying $200+ for a round. However, the Desert Course has very little to offer. I played the first day their new 17th hole opened, and unfortunately it's really nothing special to look forward to. They probably should've given it a couple more weeks to grow-in. It's not a difficult course whatsoever, it has very limited scenery, and they haven't updated yardages within their carts nor physical markings. If you can get a deal from somewhere and pay $125-$150 for the round then I'd suggest playing, however, paying in excess of that is not worth your time or money.

From the moment we arrived to the course we were treated with world class services. We were immediately greeted and escorted to the pro shop. We were offered complimentary coffee and pastries before warming up. The coffee was incredible by the way! They allowed us to tee off a little early which was nice. They informed us the course was wide open. Only downside was they let the group behind us tee off fairly quickly and there were many groups behind them, thus forcing us to play fast. How can you possibly play fast here?? Every hole is gorgeous. Challenging long course and the ocean views are beyond gorgeous. Lush and perfectly trimed bermuda grass on every hole! Unfortunately they are developing massive homes near 17 and 18 and the signature 17th was moved. It was still a great course and worth every penny. Will definitely go back!

We visited Cabo San Lucas May 8th-12th. Stayed at Grand Fiesta Americana Resort, and played golf at Cabo Del Sol since it was close to our Resort (free shuttle bus drop & pickup). They have 2 courses: Ocean & Desert courses. We played the Desert (Tom Wieskoff course) since the Ocean course (Jack Nicholas) is private. Both are part of Four Seasons Resort. Desert was in great shape, up & down hills, valleys, water, ...forced us to use all the clubs. You can see the Sea/Ocean from, pretty much, all holes since it's elevated course. They had all-inclusive drinks at #4, #7, and #17, and #11 has food & drinks. We paid $275 + $60 (Taylormade Stealth clubs) + 18% tax for Saturday morning tee times. I shot: 43 + 43 (not a good round for me, mostly due to too many 3 putts ...note, Ball always rolls towards the Ocean).
