Wild Canyon Adventures — Attraction in Baja California Sur

Great place for families (even with little kids!)

Wild Canyon Adventures is a hidden gem. Most reviews talk about the monster zip lines, ATV and UTV rides, bungee jumping, etc. but rest assured there is PLENTY to do with younger kids!! Ours are in elementary school and the highlight of this trip for them was the Animal Kingdom! The two guides lead us through each animal encounter where you could get up close and personal. It was unlike anything we’d ever experienced as normally in a zoo you’re looking at the animals from behind a glass window or chain fence but here you actually went inside to be with them. Our kids were delighted to stretch out their arms and have the tour guide pour seeds into their hands as the lovebirds flew over to land of our kids fingers and wrists to eat from their palms! Some lovebirds even landed on our heads which we found amusing! It was the same in the area with the parrots/macaws! One at a time the tour guide had us stretch out our arm and a macaw would fly and land on our arm, spread its wings open and we could take a photo! The tour guide also had us hold a single seed in our lips for the macaw to fly over to take the seed out of our mouth. Another great photo op as it looked like the bird was kissing us!! Their feathers were so soft and we enjoyed getting to pet them. We obviously didn’t get interactive with the crocodile or alligator but it was very educational what we learned about them. We also loved going into the duck and turtle area where we could actually pick up and hold the tortoises! Lastly, our kids especially loved the bunny rabbit and Guinea pig area. They were so cute and our kids were thrilled to hand them big leaves of lettuce and suddenly have their feet be swarmed by many cute bunnies wanting to eat from them! They got to hold the baby bunnies in their hands and even make a pouch in the bottom of their t-shirt to cradle the baby bunny against them while the guide put bits of lettuce in there for the bunny to nibble on. It was heartwarming and our girls could’ve stayed in that part all day!! Both tour guides were phenomenal! So informative and friendly and patient with our children. From there we were encouraged to go see the camels as it was part of our admission and it was just as interactive in that we got to pet the camel, feed it carrots out of our mouth, have the camel give us a kiss on our cheeks, etc!

We ended our time at the Wagoona water park . We ordered food from the restaurant to be delivered to the pool which was great in maximizing our time! The deepest part of the water is only up to an adult’s knee and they have super little slides for toddlers all the way to tunnel slides for the older kids. Our 9 year old still enjoyed it and had a blast!! Our kids also liked trying the tight rope that was tied between two nearby trees; they could hold the top rope while walking across the bottom rope. There was lots for them to do in that pool area with many lounge chairs both in the sun and shade! Part of the animal kingdom is also in the shade and has some covered buildings. Such a beautiful place with stunning views of the canyon even if you aren’t doing any of the other activities.

We booked the animal kingdom tour for noon (they are 90min long and have three start times: 9:00, 12:00, 15:00) and we got the later shuttle back to where we were staying. If you have a chance to check this place out you should! Very affordable, very clean and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They even have a paramedic on site if anything happens. Had a WONDERFUL experience! Our family of 7 spent the day at Wild Canyon last week, and it has been by far one of the most memorable days EVERRRRRR!!! As guests of Playa Grande Resort, we were provided with a courtesy shuttle to and from the park (which worked out perfectly!). We purchased our tickets (normally priced at $199 each for the park pass) through a flash sale advertisement offered on Instagram at a price of 3x2 (3 tix for the price of 2). Together with the shuttle service, it was a nice savings. The park pass allows access to all activities within the park. Our family did zip lining throughout 5 different -breath-taking- stations, bungee jumping (exhilarating), ATV's, camel riding, and in the end, enjoyed the coolest most laid-back water park ever after an adventure filled day for some much needed relaxation with food and drinks. Let me just say, though it was a tad pricey, it was totally worth it for our family....much better than DISNEYLAND where all you do all day is hurry up and wait in endless lines for hours on end. There was no wait at any stations and it was adventure packed at every single station. Our day really felt like a VIP experience because the approach/ contact is very individualized. The employees are super friendly, funny, and are all Bi-lingual (English & Spanish). Additionally, they are super organized and are constantly communicating with one another via walkie-talkies to ensure safety and enhance efficiency (and boy are they efficient in all that they do!!!!)-- American Theme Parks really need to take notes on this.

Since cell phones/ cameras are not allowed (likely because of the increased risk for loss and for safety purposes), you have the option to purchase pictures at the end of your experience, or have your own personal group photographer follow you around all day to capture the moments (like we did)-- it was totally worth it. We got over 275 photos. Pictures are air-dropped to your phone and placed on a usb as well. I must've waited less than 10 minutes for all of my photos-- As you can tell, I am very impressed with how streamlined their process is; the last thing I want to do when I travel is wait in lines and crowds all dang day and Wild Canyon made sure to make the most of our day there.

I am impressed with their cleanliness, their sanitation processes, efficiency, safety procedures, water park, their animals and how well they are cared for, and their food quality. Overall, it was an EXCELLENT experience for EVERYONE in our group. The ages were as follows: 43, 42, 24, 24, 23, 16, and 8....and every single person had a BLAST!!!

The way I see it is, TEAM BUILDING isn't only for the workplace- Our day at WILD CANYON was by far, one of the best vacation days spent while in Cabo with our family. We conquered together :)

An Unforgettable Adventure with Wild Canyon Adventures in Cabo!

Our family just had the most incredible experience with Wild Canyon Adventures' UTV tour in Cabo, and we can't stop raving about it! From start to finish, it was an absolute blast, and a huge part of that was thanks to our phenomenal guides, Ivan and Fabian.

From the moment we arrived, Ivan and Fabian made us feel right at home. They greeted our kids, aged 9 and 11, with big smiles and genuine enthusiasm, instantly making them feel included and excited for the adventure ahead. It's not always easy to find activities that genuinely engage both kids and adults, but these guys nailed it.

The tour itself was a perfect mix of thrilling and safe. We zoomed through stunning desert landscapes, navigated winding trails, and even caught glimpses of local wildlife. Ivan led the way with expertise, sharing fascinating facts about the area that had all of us—including the kids—completely captivated. Fabian kept the energy high, cracking jokes and making sure everyone was comfortable and having the time of their lives.

What really stood out was how attentive they were to our kids. They took the time to explain how everything worked, answered all their curious questions.

Safety was clearly a top priority for Ivan and Fabian, and as parents, we really appreciated that. They provided all the necessary gear, gave us a thorough rundown before we set off, and checked in regularly throughout the tour. It allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience without any worries.

By the end of the day, we felt like we'd made new friends. Ivan and Fabian's passion for what they do shines through in every aspect of the tour. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care turned a fun day out into an unforgettable family memory.

If anyone deserves to be Guides of the Month, it's Ivan and Fabian. They went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional, and we can't thank them enough. Wild Canyon Adventures is lucky to have such dedicated and awesome guides on their team.
