Parque Natural El Encuentro — Attraction in Chiapas

Seems like a nice area with running water and peaceful nature. But the management here is horrible and violent.

I arrived early, after 10:30am, and there was no one at the entrance so I proceeded in on my motorcycle. Shortly after, an attendant came yelling at me about needing to pay. I was happy to pay but he came at me with a big sick and shoved me. Then he made an attempt to swing the stick at me and I de-escalated the situation.

Great spot to explore the media ambiante around San Cristóbal. Entrance fee is very reasonable. The organization is trying really hard to be green and give options to visitors on living sustainably. Bravo. The buildings have the same vibe as those at Orquideas Moxviquil, which is a good sign. The gardens are lovely and the co-op taking care is very important for the vibe of the site. El encuentro by itself is a very beautiful place, with a river and a waterfall that I find really peaceful.
