Zoofari Centro de Conservación — Attraction in Guerrero

The place is beautiful, and the experience is amazing with the smaller animals they have roaming.

You then get to see buffaloes/bison, deer, zebras roaming around in herds and relaxing. It was splendid to get to see them in real life and see that they are being taken care of so well.

Spacing issues: However, it instantly became evident that not all animals get the same treatment. Big animals are in very small spaces, it was heartbreaking to see the majestic elephants, hippos, big white lions, dromedaries, chimpanzees, and hyenas in small spaces.

Two big hippos in a smaller pool, the elephants each had a small space where all they'd do is walk around in circles. The "Zoo" area (after the safari), had animals boxed up too including a cassowary, smaller birds and goats.

They are trying to work towards preserving endangered species and I fully support this, but I can't unsee the unequal treatment ESPECIALLY towards the species they are "saving". I attached some images so you can all appreciate the chimpanzees (there were about 5 total in that semi circle of grass and one threw a rock at us, yes he missed by a lot and there was NO DANGER), but I don't blame his anger)

The 2nd star is only because the "safari" area that have species like white dear, buffalo, and wild goats is huge and great. But not all animals get to roam around freely and enjoy a bit of "freedom".

The rest of the animals suffer all day and they are all pacing, back and forth, back and forth. Leave them in nature if you will have them in a box until they die.

The GOOD (mostly the beginning of the tour "Stage 1"): The safari space and tour is amazing. There are animals roaming around, and you can interact with them such as geese, swans, capybaras, Patagonian maras, they sometimes release the giraffes, wild goats that all want you to feed them. This was an adorable experience that I will forever cherish.

Staff and information:

The staff is very friendly and informative, but the areas of the zoo don't all have information about the name of the animal in the tiny cage. I'd like to see the name of the species and what their habitat is, diet, mating information, etc.

Pricing: There are too many bad reviews for pricing. The price is fine and accessible, and knowing that your entree fee is used to maintain such a beautiful environment for animals and to feed and care for them should discourage people from complaining about things being expensive. Organizations that preserve wildlife don't have that much support and we should make that change with at least not complaining about entree fees. donations are welcome to help these creatures out.

I had high hopes for this place. I am sure that with more support and donations they can continue to improve. So I welcome you to visit and have the experience of your life and share feedback like...

Muy padre!! pero empezaré por lo malo para intentar generar conciencia y adjunto algunas evidencias, la parte del final donde están las jaulas me parece que los espacios son demasiado reducidos, vi un lince que caminaba de un lado a otro rápidamente muy ansioso, la jaula de jaguares hay 1 en una pequeña y 2 panteras en otra también pequeña, varias especies de monos también en espacios reducidos, una hiena también paseando de un lado a otro ansiosa (adjunto video evidencia donde se ve que ya hizo un camino de tierra por hacer esto constantemente).

Y lo que me causa más coraje es que en cuanto a terreno hay demasiado espacio, hacia los lados y hacia arriba, no sé si sea por temas de presupuesto pero recuerdo que percibí algo similar hace unos 10 años que fui por última vez.

Siento que en general les hace falta una renovada en cuanto a infraestructura, decoración, senderos mejor trazados, mejorar algunos hábitats de las jaulas, más espacios para que los animales se cubran del Sol o se refresquen (vi a varios monos en las islas del lago cubriéndose bajo las sombras pequeñitas de los palos de sus casitas, en el video se ve cómo no hay árboles ni sombra y así estaban otras islas). Podrían hasta hacer algunas calles dobles para que te quedes un poco más de tiempo y haya espacio para que te rebasen ya que nos pasó varias veces que teníamos cola y nos obligó a avanzar rápido (espacio lo tienen para hacer esto).

Pero en general genial la experiencia, toda la parte del safari es increíble ahí sí los espacios son gigantes y hay muchísimas especies, acariciar capibaras fue lo máximo, entrar y ver las jirafas caminar libremente es wow! la zona de los bisontes y las cabras de montaña se me hizo la más bonita se siente totalmente como si estuvieras en su hábitat natural (lo único ahí es que el lago para los búfalos es muy pequeño y estaban todos ahí amontonados).

Pero sí lo recomiendo ampliamente, hasta pagaría un poco más para que le hagan...

Fui emocionada debido a todas las opiniones que vi en internet. Y si bien me complació poder ver a varias especies de animales tan de cerca. Me fui muy decepcionada por las condiciones en que viven estos animalitos, así como la estructura general del lugar. Los animales se muestran aburridos, tienen muy poca infraestructura para actividades de recreación y socialización, como los tigres, que solo contaban con un especie de banco para acostarse, siendo que los felinos son grandes cazadores que necesitan liberar ese tipo de ansiedad de alguna manera. O los chimpancés, que no tenían manera de colgarse o jugar... En muchos casos, los animales incluso tienen muy poco espacio, como ejemplo están los elefantes, varias especies de aves, etc. El calor es sofocante y el lugar tiene muy pocos árboles en donde los animales se puedan proteger. Todos se encuentran arrinconados en las pocas áreas con sombra. Hay muy poca información respecto a las especies que contiene el lugar, ¿por qué están ahí? ¿de dónde llegaron? ¿cuál es la razón de que estén ahí y no en su hábitat natural? Veo que el lugar se hace llamar "centro de conservación" pero nunca exponen su filosofía, su misión, o qué tipo de metas han logrado con el paso de los años. El personal está ausente por no decir inexistente. Nadie está pendiente de los animales que están en contacto con las personas ni del trato que estos pueden llegar a recibir.

Tener lugares de conservación y preservación es muy importante. Pero es necesario llenar la mayor cantidad posible de necesidades de los animales, más allá de la alimentación, estos tienen otros aspectos fundamentales en sus vidas. De corazón espero que pronto se les dé una mejor calidad de vida a las especies...
