Sendero El Caracol — Attraction in Jalisco

Excellent if somewhat remote hike in the Lake Chapala area. I took an uber to the start of the hike and went from there. Took about 1:30 hours to get to the top camping area.

Moderate difficulty, I think the heat was the hardest part. I went at 3:30 pm to give myself plenty of time not knowing how long it would take. Going early morning or later in day (5ish pm) is probably better.

I'm not sure if I reached the end of the hike; I read a comment about not going all the way to the antenna so I stopped and turned around back to the camping area. But there were still some nice views of the lake and Chapala town from the ridge before the antenna, and a view towards GDL on...

Es un hermoso lugar para practicar senderismo y agarrar condición. Me encanta porque te encuentras con muchos paisajes a la vez!👌🏼 No voy seguido pero cuando voy siempre me sorprende, sobre todo por las vistas que hay desde arriba, si amas la naturaleza te encantará. Además cuenta con un área donde se puede acampar. Está muy bien marcada la ruta y hay algunas señalizaciones.

Recomendación : ▪️Se requiere tener cierta condición física. ▪️Vayan temprano, y no vayan solos, de preferencia con alguien que ya conozca ahí, ya que hay gente que se ha perdido. Es una zona amplia y te puedes confundir estando ahí. ▪️Lleven suficiente agua, y la ropa adecuada, gorra, botas de montaña, bastones, PowerBank, snacks, entre otras cosas.

Excelente lugar para aprovechar de la naturaleza, disfrutar de la preciosa vista a el lago y conocer otra opción en Chapala jal, mejor conocido como el hawey, es la puerta para subir a la montaña, lugar conocido como la " mesa " arriba, en su cubre, se aprecia desde diferentes ángulos todo el inmenso lago y si tienes suerte el gran pico del nevado de Colima, por el otro lado los pueblos de Ixtlahuacan, cajititlan, el salto y la gran ciudad de Guadalajara. ANIMO amantes de la naturaleza no se pierdan de una aventura...
