We recently visited Ciudad De Mexico to visit Our Lady, visit an orphanage and watch a soccer match El Classico. We were disappointed for not being able to buy tickets before hand through StubHub without a Mexico address. We took our chances to buy tickets off of scalpers .We found several offering upto triple the price! We bought them only to find out later that the tickets were fake. The tickets had name and date of the event on top of an old ticket #sticker possibly copy establisment .The Azteca Stadium sold event tickets to locals in 4 hours.I wish Police cared about the scalpers ripping off tourists right in front of their eyes. The man selling us fake tickets knew which police to watch out for??!!! The Azteca Stadium should not allow this buy and sell from outside. We went to another Stadium and pretty much saw same scams.please be aware of scammers in Mexico City. Do not trust anyone.StubHub Please have more consideration in not selling tickets to people who will only profit and jeopardize people. Its sad that they are all over Stadium.Stub Hub please sell tickets from US for out of...

Italy vs West Germany | 4-3 (1970 WC SF)

This classic is heralded across football punditry as "The Game of the Century" primarily because a) it featured two football powerhouses, Italy and West Germany, b) provided five goals in extra time c) and it was a World Cup semifinal.

Boninsegna put the Italians in front very early in the game with a left-footed strike from the edge of the box. Just when most everybody assumed we were heading straight toward a victory for Italy, then German defender Schnellinger levelled up the score with a diving header in injury time.

Germany took the lead with a goal from Gerd Muller in the 94th minute. Burgnich went on to equalize four minutes later. Italy closes the first period of extra time with another goal by Gigi Riva.

The Kaiser, Franz Beckenbauer had his right shoulder dislocated early in the game. He went on to play the remainder of the game with a scarf on.

The inevitable Muller scored again to level the game at 3-3. Rivera went on to score the winning goal immediately after, securing a spot in the final...

Attended a fútbol game here. It’s pretty straightforward and seem-less to get through on a weekday with less popular teams playing. We ended printing the tickets out at an office max since for about 10pesos since we were having problems with the Ticketmaster app. The only confusing part when entering was that since we had seats on the middle side of the stadium they kept directly us to either side as labeled on the signage but then refused to let us in on one side and directed us to the other side for which we had already been turned away and told to go to the other side. No language barriers involved as we all spoke Spanish, it just seems like the staff was confused on what side to let us in through. Small bags seemed to be allowed but no umbrellas. They had plenty of snack options (popcorn, ramen, chips, nuts, beer and Coca-Cola). If you have the FanID app it makes it easier for you to get in quicker, since it seems they just scan your face and run it through...

Sat in the Platea Alta. Great seats. We had a weird bar obstructing our view but moved after 20 minutes to some free seats. Large beers were 90 pesos. Our Spanish is limited but we felt safe -- there were probably 100 cops with riot shields as well as a helicopter doing fly overs. The grounds were busy and included families with kids. As a foreigner I bought tickets through Ticketmaster.mx. I'd show up 1 hour early to get your tickets and find your seats. To the right of the entrance find the big 'Taquilla' signs. Wait in the first line, once in the fenced in area be careful to get in a line for the 'Will Call' windows -- it was dark and signs could be hard to see. Pass through your credit card, ID (I used driver's license), and order number. On your way back to the entrance drop off your belt (10 pesos) if you're wearing one.
