I came here with my kids as a tourist and of course did not have a transportation card from MI which is required to be able to enter to the station and there were no places we could buy it and automatic machines were accepting only recharge MI card option (but in fact they have option to purchase new card, but today they were out of cards and were accepting only recharge). Personnel of the station tried to explain us how to do it (in spanish which we did not understand) but soon they realized that we do not understand and just let us in without any charge. It is 5 star service, thank you. This place worth to be, it is amazing experience and I recommend 100 percent. This is not a touristic attraction, it is regular transport for Mexicans. Read moreIt's a really nice trip. Yes it's not intended as a tourist attraction, and the area is not very touristic. But you have an amazing view on the volcanos, on many cool painted roof tops and the city. Depending on the current smog level far view can be limited. If you are doing the full length of the cable bus 2 route and are coming from the city center by public transport, plan a lot of time. The two end points are relatively far out and it can take you up to an hour to get there and then as well for the return way. Still worth it...

For only $7 pesos, you can get in and get a beautiful view from above of the city. We did it without a tour guide which was no problem at all, but in the cable cart we met one and he gave the tip not to get out anywhere (except of course Constitución de 1917) beacuase the neighbourhood is very dangerous.
