So this is a 4-star with some important cautionary notes. First, it's a fair distance south from central CDMX. Traffic could affect your trip. We took an Uber. Plan on at least 1 hr one-way. Second, there are "promotional motorcycle gangs" that will attempt to manipulate and alter your visit to their advantage for the "almighty dollar". Be cautious There were many, but one in particular was following us saying that our destination dock was closed for maintenance. We ignored, and of course, our dock was open for business and full of tourists. Third, nearly everything here can be negotiated, particularly the cost of the boat ride. There is also heavy promotion of food, mariachi, and jewelry. Fourth, it's recommended to NOT eat the food for safety reasons and DO not drink any hard alcohol. It's not clear what could be added in. It is best to drink beer from an (initially unopened) bottle. Lastly, unless you've done lots of homework and know exactly what you want, doing and paying for a 1-hr trip is recommended. One of the embarcaderos to get into the trajineras. No restroom available so go to the ones across the street (5-10 pesos, check to see the price before you go in). The trajineras are small boats typically equipped with a table, perfect for enjoying drinks or food as a group. Originally, they featured a flower arrangement at the front to welcome each guest. Nowadays, the name of the group is painted at the front instead. The trajineras will take you through the canals, allowing you to drift and relax with your group. Highly recommended Trajinera pier with wide parking lot and nice crafts to buy. If you're looking to get a trajinera trip, beware of the people nearby riding bikes or just shouting you out to follow them because the "Embarcadero" is closed. Don't listen to them, I repeat, do not listen to them, they're full of it. Just keep driving to the place without hesitation. You can get 1 hour, 2, 3 or more in the Trajinera ride. You can bring friends and family. It's quitter in workdays if you're looking to have a peaceful time but otherwise, if you're looking to party and have fun you should go on weekends,...
