If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! I love this lake! It is so beautiful and peaceful. I love to just look at the trees or just sit and watch the water. The Mexican government is upgrading the sidewalks, restrooms, and some of the buildings around the lake, as it is a National Park. Also, when you enter the park, you may want to drop off elderly family members or moms with strollers before you head up the hill to the parking lot. The walk down after you park your vehicle is dusty and steep in places. It can get very busy during holiday seasons and weekends. There is swimming and boating allowed, you can also rent a boat and a guide to take you around the lake. You can bring a picnic lunch or buy food from one of the restaurants. There are also artisans that sell hats and souvenirs. If you are visiting the state of Michoacán or just a nature lover, I highly recommend that you spend a few hours here. The beautiful old trees and the amazing color of the water make for impressive photos.

Over the years more and more tourists visit from all over the world. It’s nice to see this place full of people, enjoying what Mother Nature has created. I hope everyone visiting respects and keeps it clean to continue to enjoy this magical place. Very inexpensive for a whole day of fun. Entrance is under $2 dollars per person. You can rent a boat for 30-40 minutes that paddle you out to enjoy the beautiful Lago. Our last visit we had a very informative with stories and tales about the Lago. This time our boat guide didn’t talk or share anything. The ride was nice we enjoyed it. It’s $150-$200 pesos equals = $8-10 dollars for 5-7 people on each boat. Restaurant and bar sections are now available and serve food and drinks. No need to carry any food. WATER SHOES are a MUST if you will be swimming in the Lago? The roots can hurt and make it difficult and slippery. Swimming, eating, just resting. A whole day to enjoy.

About 1 hr and half drive from Cojumatlan de Regules, Mich,Mex. When you enter it doesn't look like much is there just land of farms and open beautiful land. As you enter and pass the farmlands you'll notice a hotel on the right with its own water park. Looks pretty cool actually. You have to pay to park. It's per person per vehicle. But it also gives you access to the park and I believe kids under certain age aren't charged. Plenty full of parking at least on a weekday we went. There are restaurant before entering the park and souvenirs stores. The entrance to the park was spectacular for myself. I love scenery and nature and its was just a humbling and beautiful experience of what's to come. The park was magnificent. The types of trees, lake water was crystal clear for the most part. This place is awesome! This national Park is in my experiences fun relaxing people are very welcoming and attentive to the needs of the visitors. Park is clean, water in the lake is Crystal clear you can even see the fish and the roots of the trees inside the lake and expect the water to be cold but very relaxing lots of picnic tables to sit on. Or you can also hire a small boat with a rower man. I went on a Tuesday with several of my family members we had a good time. Musitions come by asking you to hire them to play a song of your choice for a small fee of $100 pesos equivalent to about $5.00 U.S. dollars. Theirs also restaurants all around the crystal clear lake. You've got to experience it for your self I can assure you will look forward to being back like my self. Enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful. Delicately played mariachi music floats through the air. You can rent a small Lancha it take you across the Lake, or you can walk around it, or both. They have areas for overnight camping and for barbecuing with picnic tables at the water'a edge. There are also stands along the Water's Edge that sell food so that you can enjoy a freshly cooked meal with a magical view. I highly recommend the stand with the homemade ice cream. It's just the right amount of sweetness so you don't get sick of it. You can also find it stands and individual vendors of snacks and artisinal goods, which are quite lovely.
