We went with Gaia Xtreme guiding for our trip to Nido de los Aguiluchos. Started before dawn and saw the first rays of light shining on the Monterrey city when we reached La Ventana1 overlook. The view was spectacular, out of this world. The hike up is short and very steep. You hike on a loose rock. After you reach the overlook, you need to scramble up the range using the steel cables, then rappel down (3 rappels). Going down is difficult - it's on the same loose, steep rocks we hiked up. Recommend bringing walking poles. Guides provided all the equipment. You need to bring your own water and snacks. They carry rappelling equipment and will not offer you food or water.

It is true that the views are stunning but I feel the need to have people know that this is NOT a hike for beginners. I am in good physical condition but this was my first time rappelling and this was VERY extreme. Super narrow spaces to walk, no easy way to go down, LOTs of scramble. Even the guides said sometimes people come and start crying and become paralyzed since it’s more intense than they expected but once you’re in, you have to finish. No step of this hike is easy. Do it if you like that kind of thing but know what you are getting into.

The craziest and hardest climb I have done. You better don't fear height because it is overwhelming. There's basically a vertical wall you climb up without rope. There's something to hold but easy to slip too. Personally, being fit is not enough. In All Trail app, this climb is classed as hard, and it is, I recommend it for experienced climbers.
