Cascadas Magicas de Copalitilla — Attraction in Oaxaca

This was, by far, our favorite excursion during our cruise. The waterfalls were in San Miguel del Puerto, 90 minutes from the cruise part in Huatulco. Because we don’t like being held captive to 9 hour tours, we asked not to go to lunch and it ended up being a 5 hour excursion. We spent a couple of hours climbing these beautiful waterfalls and swimming. We are in our 60s and we’re mobile, but overweight. Our guide, Gonzalo Giovanni, was worth his weight in gold. He assessed that we’d be able to make this pretty intrepid trek, and we could only do it because he told us where to put our feet at every step. We didn’t slip once and the beauty was incredible.

This tour is not available thru ANY cruise ship, because vans and buses would never make it the last couple miles of road. We went in a 6 passenger suv. I felt like I was in the Garden of Eden, swimming with my beloved. And since we went first thing in the morning, we beat the heat...

What a wonderful experience coming to the waterfalls. We enjoyed our time here. It takes a while to get here but its well worth it. There's a lot of curves on the road. There is a fee of 100 pesos per person. The walk down to the waterfalls is about 20 minute walk. There is baskets to dispose of you trash so olease do so lets keep these natural parks clean. Watch for snakes and other animals as we are in their home. A man with a "yellow shirt" at the waterfalls that will care and watch for your belongings he doesn't charge but will take a tip on your way out. On the way back out there is a small restaurant with delicious food for 100 pesos per person it was well worth it we had a braised beef in sauce, chicken stew, chicken mole, rice, beans and some large hand made tortillas, to drink they give you Hibiscus water, you can also purchase beer and other...

Simplemente maravilloso!! Se encuentra aproximadamente a 2 hr de Huatulco. Dependiendp como esté el camino, ya que en época de lluvia hay que ir más despacio por la terrazería y el lodo. Es un poco largo el camino y medio tedioso, pero aprovecha para tomar preciosas fotos de la vegetación como árboles de aguacate y piñas pequeñitas. Puedes observar iguanas de diferentes tamaños y aves de colores preciosos. Haz una pequeña parada en lo más alto para tomartr una foto panorámica teniendo como fondo la inmensa. vegetación. Más adelante puedes parar también para degustar del delicioso café, chocolate, mezcal, miel, cremas naturales y comprar uno que otro souvenir. Al llegar tendrás que hacer una buena caminata así que te recomiendo lleves zapatos de playa, ya que hay mucha piedra y puedes resbalarte. Antes de entrar al túnel tienes oportunidad de tomarte fotos teniendo como fondo la cascada que además es impresionante. Recomiendo que lleves cámara para tomar fotos bajo el agua. La necesitarás!! Dentro del túnel disfrutarás de la rica agua de la cascada y tomarte fotos increíbles!! Recomiendo lo hagas con guía, es peligroso. Si no sabes nadar, te da miedo el agua o las alturas mejor no vayas. La corriente es demasiado fuerte. Al salir del tunel podrás tomarte fotos con la cascada detras de ti! A sólo unos 2 o 3 metros de distancia. Es de las mejores tomas que podrás tener. A la bajada podrás aventarte unos buenos clavados en diferentes puntos donde el guía te indique como hacerlo ya que son profundos los pozos. También podrás aventarte de una cuerda ya sea desde el suelo o un poco más alto. Es íncreíble la adrenalina y la emoción!! Finalmente podrás comer en una casa grande, al aire libre, rico mole oaxaqueño, barbacoa, frijoles de olla, arroz, cecina y agua de jamaica. También si lo deseas podrás cambiarte y quitarte el traje de baño mojado. Si gustas de la aventura y la adrenalina no lo dudes! Lo recomiendo al 100%. De preferencia en tour.
