This large park boasts a gorgeous, unspoilt coast of picturesque rocky cliffs and empty golden beaches, with incredible marine life to snorkel with. I experienced the park only from the coast, having hired a boat with a captain and skipper to take us to the best snorkeling spots. The boatride itself is highly recommended, spectacular. We saw many schools of fish jumping the surface as they feed in the nutrient rich waters. The trip was cut short, however, because of rough waters, so we had take a car taxi back because it wasn't safe for the boats to be out. So we did not step onto as many beaches or snorkel as many spots as were possible on the day trip, but, on the flip side, we did not die, so! That's the Pacific for you, a real force of nature. Despite this, highly...

Outstanding places to know, both Oaxaca and Huatulco. From Oaxaca to Huatulco take a little airplane Cessna 35 minutes flight, the views from Sierra Madre are extraordinary, take your photos and Videos for 35 minutes, sit in the copilot sit, since it is only one person fliying the plane. Food is splendid, not expensive, best not very expensive accomodations in Oaxaca Casa Abu and in Huatulco Quinta Bella, and move by Taxi for around $2 USD...and fly out of the area straight from Huatulco...and not very populated places. The best beach in Huatulco Playa La Entrega, you can reach it by boat or by Taxi, excellent food and be ready for swim in tranquil waters. Visit el Embarcadero in La Crucesita, and swim there as well and eat and drink best cool...

The Bays are incredible!

My problem: Today we took a snorkeling tour with the Fiestas Catamaran, and our guide chipped away with a knife on the coral to make fish come out. It was very disturbing to witness, and is one of the reasons the coral is no longer vibrant. He also grabbed a puffer fish, coral, and sea urchins for photo-ops and I don’t believe this kind of behaviour should be allowed at a “protected eco park”…Please try to work on educating the guides/ships to protect your gorgeous marine life. When I went previously with WestJet excursions, they were very respectful and ensured we all wear...

Absolutely incredible place with 15 other people at the beach during the day. You have to take a 70 peso taxi to the entrance and walk 40 min to the beach, but this walk is amazing with lots of butterflies and iguanas on the way. Bring the repellent and the sunscreen! Phones don't work there, so think in advance how will you get back! We had to walk another 10 min until we found the taxi near the other beach.

Huatulco was a stop for Holland America cruise ship and we took a boat trip to the national park and swam in wonderful very clean warm water. Had a great time. There are no sewer plants discharging any affluent at all in Hualtuca. The captain was very proud of that. Also no hotels are allowed in the park bay.
