Waste of time. The beach itself looks lovely but the way it’s managed just doesn’t make any sense to me. You can enter “for free” but you have to spend money at the restaurant, hence the quotation marks. That’s all fine with me, whatever. It would’ve been nice if the food was actually decent but that’s a different topic. Here’s my real problem with Paamul Beach - the tiny strip of sand right in front of the restaurant was packed so I thought I’d walk a bit further along the beach where it looked really pretty and quiet. However, a security guard stopped me and didn’t let me go any further. Now, my Spanish is non-existent practically and I appreciate that going to Mexico, tourists shouldn’t expect that all local people would speak English. However, perhaps a sign explaining the situation in both languages would’ve been really helpful. What I understood (with my extremely limited vocabulary in Spanish) was that I couldn’t bring my bag to the beach(?!?) but I could be completely wrong. The man was also unnecessarily rude, I felt. I tried using Google translate - he was having none of it. In the end, I got frustrated and left. As I said, a complete waste of time… and money. Go to Xpu Ha instead. A 100...

What a shame!! A beautiful day was ruined by bad information and greed. It was New Year Eve day and we decided to spend it at the beach club. We turned up and paid the 500 per person plus another 500 for the bed loungers. We ordered a drink, then we went for a swim all lovely. At 1.10pm, we were just going to go out for another swim when our beach waiter informed us that both the kitchen and the bar were closing at 2 pm because of New Year Eve. That was it no service after 2pm. I asked to speak to the manager. The man who took our money came over. I explained the problem and he said that he was sorry that he hadn't told us about the closing but he would sort out the bill. When the bill came, nothing had been changed, and the full charges were there. I asked the waiter if the bill was correct and he said yes. So I paid it no tip ( it was my only way of registering my upset. No one cares at this place. I received a meat burger instead of a shrimp so that went back the fries were cold so that went back. It tries to be good but no one cares. Such a...

Been on this place twice already. It’s wonderful to go to because you get your own paradise. The only downside tho is on the weekend there’s a disco and music til midnight or so at the far end of the beach, not part of the paamul resort. Their music can be so loud sometimes it’s hard to sleep when there’s a party. And if you just want to stay at the resort for the whole week be prepared to eat the same food cos there is only one restaurant on site. After 3 days eating 3x a day you practically taste everything on the menu .and if you stay 8 days without options of other menu you’d get tired of it. so rent a car to go venture for different...

It was better a few years ago. It cost $15 to take a taxi from Puerto Aventuras to Paamul this time and it was only 2.5 miles away. We had brunch in the restaurant and it was okay. Coffee was good. The beach had some weird ropes and it was confusing. The beach was unkempt due to trash. We started to walk around to show the kids that people parked campers under the palapa style buildings but the roving security guard said "no". As such, there was nothing left to do so we left. Probably won't be coming back for several reasons.

The beach itself is wonderful even for snorkeling but the locals put a gate to filter who’s entering the area and literally tell you that the only condition to enter is to go spend 500 pesos minimum at the only restaurant there is... they also keep an ID from you. I DO NOT approve this type of tourism. Won’t go anymore. Just pass your way to another way more beautiful city called Puerto Morelos.
