The first restaurant at the entrance is a rip-off. Beware. Upon arrival to the beach, we were guided into the parking lot by a young man, who sat us at a beach table. He took our drink orders, reorders, and food orders. We were discussing a boat tour for the next day with a man named Cristobal. I never knew he was the owner of that restaurant. We enjoyed the ambiance of the beach for a few hours with the drinks and then ordered meals. Towards the end of our stay, I asked for the wifi password. A young lady brought me a slip of paper with it, and all was fine. When it came time to pay, they brought me a bill charging 70pesos for wifi. I responded that I would not pay that. I gave them my credit card for which they were going to add a 5% surcharge. Ok. The young lady who brought me the wifi password now returns with the mobile terminal, which I signed. I immediately questioned the amount, and the conversation went to the wifi charge. She said their sign indicates the wifi charge. Where is the small sign? On the beach. I came from the parking lot. No sign there. Shouting match ensued with another young woman, maybe Cristobal's daughter. My bill was 1370 pesos. It will be in dispute with Chase Bank Credit Cards now. Worse will be the social media impact. I will not be hiring Cristobals boat or anything there and recommend readers go to another restaurant that has the bigger picture in...

Read moreThe beach is Cacaluta but google might call it Riscalillo. Cacaluta is an amazing beach with grainy rather than powdery sand. It's Jan 2, and all of the other beaches were fully crowded but this one was practically deserted with about 4 or 5 other families sharing the entire stretch with us. We saw manta rays and tropical fishes just hanging out in the shallow edge of the beach. There's also an island just off of the coast. We got to the entrance with our scooters but the park rangers didn't let us drive in with them. The walk was pretty but it took about 40+ minutes. However some locals were able to drive in with their trucks and ATVs, we...
