The place is really beautiful but full in the weekends. You need to pay for a tour that can includes only this attraction or several ones. (Price for 4 attractions that we saw was 750 pesos). The tourist guide was really nice but our phones got wet even though we gave them to the tour guide to keep them in the waterproof bag 🥲 (one of them not turning on and the other one is thankfully working after 2 days in rice).
You really need to keep in mind that if you have sensitive skin, this is not for you. I got an skin infection all over my face and eyelid just one picture shared here for discretion because they did not mention we had to go through dirty water that comes from the river (which has water that carries soap and detergent from people who wash their clothes in that water). And they do not sanitise their equipment whatsoever, which is really not good for anyone using the equipment.
We are not told at all what the tour was really about either. They never mentioned that tour whole clothes and shoes have to go in the water until we had to basically do it with no other options been given. If you don’t have a good physical condition you will probably not have a great time since the walks are really tough in certain parts. (We saw a lady from another group collapsing and helped her until medical attention arrived).
Overall the natural beauty from these places is beautiful but it’s a disgrace that they need to lie to tourists so that they pay to get a non-working phone and a dermatological problem.
(The tour we paid for was with the hotel we stayed in “Quetzalin”, which was very nice and clean compared to the tour that we had 😅)

Enclavado en medio de cerros y grutas están las poza Pata de perro de una vez les advierto que tienen que tener una condición física para subir y bajar muchas escaleras escarpadas con lodo con raíces de árboles y musgo lo cual lo hace que siempre exista el riego de resbalar pero sinceramente si puedes hacer el descenso llegarás a las grutas que es por demás emocionante entrar y nadar pasar por las cavernas la oscuridad es muy divertido y emocionante es cómo defino la Experiencia 100% recomendable siempre y cuando tengas la condición física y no tengas lesiones de rodilla o cardíacas mejor aún si sabes nadar es más fácil aunque si vas en excursión guiadas usas cascos chaleco y bastón en caso de necesitar está muy bien la experiencia les advierto al único del Recorrido hay una casa con servicios de guarda maleta con cuota les recomiendo que lleven un cambio de ropa lo dejan hay y cuando regresan si están mojados se cambian también hay baños, refrescos y aguas después de iniciar el descenso ya no hay baños 🚻 y ya al final del recorrido hay señoras que venden tamales o mangos venden refrescos 🥤 y agua pero recuerden no hay baño en fin tengan cuidado con la subida de escalones eso es lo pensado pero está bien para el...

Obligatorio ir con guía o contratar el Recorrido en Cuetzalan aunque es más caro si lo contratas en Cuetzalan ($650 promedio) es más barato si llegas cerca de la cascada hay igual guías con equipo ($450 promedio)
si no vas con guía y equipo de protección no te dejan entrar.
El lugar es bonito peor considera;
El acceso de donde dejas el auto es caminando y bajando el cerro hasta donde está para de perro que es donde inicia el recorrido, de bajar caminando por la vereda y escalones de piedra es como 40 min.
Lo difícil es el regreso pues es pura súbita en esos escoltes y veredas.
Para gente mayor es complicado el acceso. Llevar mucha agua y zapatos cómodos para la bajada y subida de cerro.
Es mejor ir entre semana para disfrutar más la estancia en la para de perro.
