Let me start by complimenting the staff. They were absolutely great. They were able to accommodate us when we had a booking error, and they all were helpful and polite. 5 stars.
The experience with the dolphins was also great. The trainers were fun and our entire group was all smiles and laughs. 5 stars.
This is the part of the review where things change a bit. It is not directed towards anyone, or any location. It is a critique of the business in general. I understand all of the reasons for not allowing guests to carry their own cameras. I was expecting to receive the post experience photograph pitch, and was prepared to go ahead and buy the photos, because it truly was a wonderful experience for me and my family. We patiently waited for the photos to load. I'm doing calculations in my head. Getting comfortable with a $150 package, $200 package, maybe even a $250 package.
Two options. I don't remember the exact specifics because I simply walked away, but these numbers are pretty close if not exact. Option 1: $450. Option 2: $510. Wife is elated because doing the quick math, she thinks we are getting a steal at around $25 USD for a great photo package. My first thought was, that can't be right, it must be per photo, which is expensive but not CRAZY. Reality sets in, it's basically $500 if you want any photos of your experience. As the gentleman realized we had no interest, he quickly threw out "well, you can get ONE picture for $45."
I'm sure plenty of guests will buy the package, and I'm sure there will be days when we regret NOT buying the package. That doesn't change my opinion of this situation. Highway. Robbery. Or in our case, "attempted." 1 star.
Hey look at that, Google wants me to add photos...
Read moreSpent way too much money on this excursion. Over 100 dollars per person for about 30 minutes of interaction (really actually think it was more like 20 minutes). Dolphins were adorable but this is way overpriced. The platform was murky and a little too deep for our 3 and 4 year old children to comfortably stand on their own to interact because the water was also choppy. We had to hold them almost the entire time in order for them to pet the dolphins otherwise they definitely would have fallen in (they were wearing life vests, but scary for young children). We were shuffled through the entire experience. In my opinion, a 109 dollar ticket should allow me to capture videos and photos of our family experiencing the dolphins. We were told we would not be able to bring any cameras or phones. A photographer stood up on the dock and took photos, which were offered to us at an outrageous rate. We were not allowed to purchase just one or two photos. Our only choices were 10 photos for 150 US dollars or the entire album (75 photos- most of which were unflattering or blurry) for 230 dollars. Super disappointing. The only way to take a memory of our 4 year old’s dream encounter to see the dolphins was to spend an obscene amount of money on their photos. As soon as we agreed to purchase the package (so much regret), we were shuffled on our way into a gift shop. The whole thing is scammy to me. I would definitely NOT recommend this excursion. Over 500 dollars for a grand total...
Read moreIt was a very nice experience. Well organized and clear instructions on how to interact with the dolphins. If the little ones are scared they accommodate different experiences. Important note: the price was only about $60 per person but they don't allow cameras or phones so if you want the pictures it is pricey.. $417 for 18 pictures or approx $550 for all the pics digitally. Update: response to owners response: I appreciate your response and clarification. I understand that the price of your pictures are lower than other places in Mexico - (Don't think it is relevant to compare to US prices as that is an entirely different market). Personally, I think I would have felt better about it if you charged more upfront for admission and less for the pictures or allowed visitors to take their own pictures. If a large group of 8 - 10 people go together perhaps they can buy the full package and share the cost. However if a small group of father, mother and son attend only to find out the only way they can take back pictures of the memory is to pay $400 on top of the admission it can be a shock or even out of the question if they don't have the money. Since there is no way for a visitor to know this until after their experience it feels like a "bait and switch".... you're standing their with your son looking up at you with a big smile eager to take a picture home to show his friends and if you don't have the money, a good time ends in...
