I will admit, I was hesitant to visit La Redonda because it's very popular and right off the main road, so I expected it to be quite commercialized and rather like the local Walmart of wineries. In this regard, I wasn't much off the mark, but my boyfriend wanted to go and, in all honesty, I am really happy we did. We arrived later - around 4pm, and after having been to 4 other wineries already during our winery tour weekend, we really didn't feel a need to do another tour or tasting or visit the restaurant. We just wanted to sit out in the vineyard and relax with some cheese and wine, and it is here that this place delivers. They have two separate buildings - one for food (mainly pizza and a plate of cheeses) and another for ordering wine by the bottle which they will open and cork for you. The line for the wine was a bit chaotic, but the girl who served me was very kind. The food was cash-only but I was able to use my credit card for the wine. We did the margarita pizza and the a cheese and meat plate (which comes in a plastic container), and two bottles of wine - the Redonda carbernet savignon and savignon blanc. And armed with food and wine, we had a magical experience. The pizza was actually quite good and definitely enough for two people to share, especially when paired with the cheese plate. We stayed until sunset and then left before it got too dark out so it would be easier to return home. I think it was perfect - if you visit, visit later, around 4pm, but keep in mind THEY STOP SERVING AT 5:30PM, so get your wine bottles before then. The wines were actually pretty good and in the mid-200 peso range. They had some that were cheaper and some that were more expensive, so we went mid-range and were not disappointed. They charge for classes (50 pesos each) but thankfully we had a car full of glasses from previous tours so we just used our own. Overall, I do highly recommend making this the last stop on your winery tours. We are certainly happy we did and would...
Read moreThis winery is truly very pretty and offers a scenic setting that’s perfect for those who appreciate beautiful landscapes and photo opportunities. The grounds are expansive and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of spots to stop and take pictures, whether it’s against rolling vineyards, charming rustic buildings, or well-manicured gardens. If you enjoy capturing memories and stunning views, this place definitely delivers.
That said, the winery is quite busy, especially on weekends or peak seasons, so be prepared for crowds. The lively atmosphere can be fun, but it does take away a bit from the peaceful winery experience some might be seeking. Parking is a bit of a hassle unless you’re willing to pay for a spot, which can be frustrating considering the rest of the experience. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning a visit.
On the plus side, the winery offers a wide range of food options spread across various seating areas on the property. Whether you want to sit outside overlooking the vines or find a cozy indoor spot, there’s plenty of choice to suit different moods. The food is good and pairs nicely with their wine selection.
Overall, it’s a cool spot and worth visiting at least once for the scenery and atmosphere. While I enjoyed my time there, I probably wouldn’t make it a regular...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I’ve been wanting to buy and customize a bottle of good, local / authentic Mexican wine to take back home in the US and I got some recommendations about this place. Well I tried communicating with them through EVERY single platform out there (Ig, their online store, phone numbers, WhatsApp) they answered days later, I had to basically drag them to give me recommendations cause they wouldn’t provide me with any advise/info unless I asked them twice. The lady Estella Cruz which is supposedly in charge of the custom bottles, completely ignored my requests, she answered the first few texts and then nothing, keep in mind it’s been more than 24 h now, so all I have to say is they lack basic customer service skills, I get they’re just employers but the owners and CEOs should be paying attention to who they hire to prevent such disgraceful situations like this to international customers. Never buying from here or recommending anyone...
