You can only drive until it the road turns into sand unless you have a four wheel vehicle. If you can't drive on the sand like for us, you will have to park and walk. We were told it could be like a four hour walk to the north tip of Isla Blanca. We know that wouldnt work, but we walked down a bit and was very surprised how much trash there was, quit discusting. Took some pics on both sides, and basically since we could not find good shade we left. The area marked on the map as the isla blanca beac area is completely full of trash, there was shade but locals had this area already. With the heat we couldn't stay long. It's just a shame it is so bad with trash. We don't understand why the hotels nearby don't want to help to fix this area up and it should be made as an all day trip being driven to the end via four wheel drive. If we had the time, we would of...
Read moreIsla Blanca is sandy peninsula stretching for about 20km,East of Cancun. There is no public transport to this area, its quite remote,so it feels very private. It's an area mostly frequented by locals and their families so it's very authentic, very chill. There is a big carpark and a small restaurant that serves drinks, until 6pm. The beach is like a strip with water on both sides, the sunset is particularly beautiful to watch here. Its a great place to observe Tiburon Sharks during the hot season, but also very good for kyte surfing, kayaking & cycling. Overall it felt very nice, the scenery is stunning & its safe. If you are looking for a special place, where you can literally walk for miles without meeting anybody, this is...
Read moreWe wanted to get out of the city so we went to this place. After 45 mins of driving on the completed demolished road we reached the place: for driving further you need to pay to a man sitting on a chair (God knows whom he gives money to), for parking you need to pay another guy, for using a long chair you need to pay to some other guys. The beach looks like an abandoned one, on the other side is kind of swamp that stinks where people do kitesurfing. In other words, don't waist your time and money! Go to the south, to Tulum, for instance, will be...
