Wow this was a one of a kind experience. The ultimate drinking and Mexican music boat party. Our guide was so funny and overall fun. You get on a beautiful boat named by a region or place in Mexico. It’s all decorated very colorful and festive. Our boat was all Latin people from all over the world. Your guide and person maneuvering the boat take you down a long river and along the way you play drinking games, talk about yourselves, stop to enjoying and watch performances such as music, dancing, singing & of course Mariachis/other Mexican groups. It was a very fun time. Our group was very happy and we danced a lot. There was unlimited tequila, mixed drinks and beer. There was also sampler sized foods and desserts from different regions of Mexico. It was a very interesting experience. My boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves. It’s basically a party boat and everyone becomes friends at the end. I wouldn’t recommend this type of event for someone who isn’t outgoing, or doesn’t like drinking or loud music and dancing because that’s the very main things you can’t avoid lol. Also I wouldn’t recommend children or those until 18 (since that’s the legal drinking age in Mexico) although they say children of all ages are welcomed, things can get crazy and then you might not like young kids to see that. However, I will definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about Mexican culture, dance, meet new people and drink LOTS of tequila and beer haha. I purchased our tickets online and got a discount. At the end you can purchase souvenirs and pictures that they take. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed this experience and at the end of the night has a blast! I believe the whole experience was about 3 hours or so. It was also nice that we were picked up and taken back to our hotel in a comfy van with AC. This was another experience in Mexico to remember. Thank you to all the amazing staff, you were great. Our experience was in...
Read moreThis is not to be missed activity if you are staying with Xcaret Hotel. I've booked this to do on the day we arrived in the hotel. I just thought this will be the best time to do it since we arrived early by 11am and we're not that tired from a 3 day lay over from Mexico City with the early flight via AeroMexico. Just remember to have this booked months or as the time it allows you to book it because they easily filled up. It used to be offered with two time slot but when we were there, it was only for 6:20. Not too sure if it depends on the season but we travel during one of the busy ones-Day of the Dead. We were transported to the place by Xcaret for 30-40 mins. They were not strict with dress code but most of the guest wore casual. The place were very festive and very Mexican. We love that you were grouped mostly if you were an english speaker and Mexican-Spanish speaker. It helped a lot with the host who speaks bilingual. I have to remind you that this is more an adult activity but not much for young ones , because the games and the fun begins and ends with more Tequila! Although the host might make adjustments if there are kids or teens onboard. The food was very Mexican. It was like samplers of their traditional food from appetizer to desserts. We enjoyed it a lot since some of the food reminds us of Filipino dishes. For some, it could be an adventure and an acquired taste so it's recommended to eat something from the hotel before leaving if you are not too sure. There will be washroom breaks but be sure to put mosquito repellant lotions/spray because you'll be aboard for hours during night time surrounded by manmade lake. Overall, it was a fun filled activity and will make you tipsy. People will get too loud and rowdy in the bus but I guess it was the Tequila to be blame for . You are on vacation so better enjoy...
Read moreMy husband and I enjoy Mexican music and dancing. We were looking forward to spending good time with our teenage kids while on vacation in Riviera Maya.
Our experience at Xoximilco was incredibly disappointing, and what has made it worse is Xcaret's refusal to accept responsibility for the following.
First, the tour was significantly delayed. The last guests boarded at 9:00 PM, not 8:30 PM as advertised, and the Trajinera didn’t depart until after that. We received no explanation for the delay, which pushed the end time well past 11:00 PM. Unacceptable.
Second, several people in our Trajinera — including those not part of our group — became ill with nausea and diarrhea shortly after the event on 5/19. Most of us avoided eating the food, yet some symptoms still appeared quickly, within hours for those who ate the food. For Xcaret, to suggest the illness came from motion on a calm, stagnant canal is insulting and dismissive.
Third, Excaret’s claim that r illness takes 1–3 days to present symptoms is misleading. It can happen within 30 minutes to a few hours, which was the case for several of us. To suggest that we all got ill elsewhere is ridiculous.
Lastly, this is not a family-friendly experience, as their website suggests. The atmosphere is definitely focused toward adults. The content of the guide’s comments and games are sexual throughout the entire tour. Families with children and teens should look elsewhere.
Despite my daughter and I not feeling well, we tried our best to participate in the fun, but it was really difficult. I had to ask to stop at the bathroom, luckily we were next to the area where there was the Trajinera with a bathroom.
I am posting this after I first reached out to Excaret snd requested at least a refund for half of the money, and...
