A truly wonderful trip and a destination worth visiting. It may be a little tricky to get here; the easiest way is to ride to Tenayuca bus station and then take an Uber.

This is the only pyramid in Mexico where they allow visitors to climb, huh! The pyramid itself is majestic and magnificent, with a lovely garden nearby and a small museum. There are a couple of rooms filled with sculptures, surprisingly impressive for such a small museum, and three rooms with furniture showcasing Porfirian-era items describing everyday life.

The elderly keeper is a really friendly señor.

The only caveat is that you can only pay with cash, but probably you are accustomed to this if you've made it this far.

While getting here, I stumbled upon a rural-style church, worth seeing as...

The caretaker of this museum opened up the gates for me on a wednesday when I had arrived by uber from the city center. She even refused tge tip I wanted to give her. So extremely kind! According to what I could read they're open either thursday to sunday or thursdays and sundays. It's quite a long ride here but what makes it so special is that you're able to see an Aztec (Mechica) styled Pyramid with a reconstructed temple on top. I'm pretty sure this place is unique in that sense. Om top of that you're allowed to climb it. But please be careful! It's not high, but very steep. Don't fall and hurt yourself so they'll close off this last climbable Aztec temple on the planet to...

This is a small site, basically a solitude pyramid. There's nothing else around the area but it's nice to see it. The offices are now working but they do not permit entry to the site yet, but it's still possible to see everything, it's just difficult to take a good photo with it. The walking directions provided by Google Maps were wrong - you have to walk into the community of Santa Cecilia...

Muy interesante. Nos gustó mucho la pirámide y la historia que guarda este lugar poco explorado, y un tanto escondido. Vale mucho la pena conocerlo.
