I had high expectations based on the reviews of this cenote. After paying the 50 pesos entrance and receiving a life jacket, there are some bathrooms that are in such disrepair. the changing stall/toilet door doesn't even close the shower doesn't work. You would think with all the tourists coming through they would have some funds to fix the most basic bathroom functions. It is afterall, a business. After passing by that area and seeing the few animals in the small cages, I smelled a stench and realized it was coming up from the cenote. This was probably the worst smelling cenote I have ever been to. After descending the stairs carefully there are a lot of flies and bees you will see. It was a decent size and has a Tarzan rope and a small jump of about 2.5M. the water wasn't so cold as it does receive some sun and there are some small fish in the water. There is a small platform area at the bottom of the stairs to put your stuff but when it gets crowded it fills up very quickly. They have a small parking area, so when it gets busy it can be difficult to navigate in and out. All in all, we weren't very impressed but for the price of 50 pesos it was worth it to see one time and spend about an hour there. I would most likely choose another cenote with so many to choose from...
Read moreCenote itself as natural formation is very nice. Also the territory is beautiful with hammocks and resting area. There is camping zone and cabañas. Price 50 pesos with included lifejacket. Condition of cenote is bad unfortunately. I was warned by tour guide that it is "descuidado" and it proved true. Water is not cleaned and unpleasant to swim in and platform to enter the water is covered with sleepery unknown residue. When I was in cenote there were workers cutting the tree branches and they were falling directly to the water while visitors were inside. Unfortunately I was not allowed to see the cenote before paying and decide if I want to swim. Otherwise I would not do it for sure due to bad cleaning Also there is a mini zoo which is unethical as the crocodile and turtles are kept in very small area. All in all I would not waste time on this cenote unless they improve as there are a lot of better options...
Read moreThe cenote costs 70 Pesos. On the way to the cenote, you pass the small zoo. The animals are kept in very bad conditions (alone, small cage without anything to play with or hide behind, no clean water to drink...). We didn't go down to the cenote because it smelled really bad and there were a lot of bees - at the top and at the surface of the water aswell. The water seems ok, but not as good as in other cenotes. We really did not feel comfortable with going to such a smelling place. We didn't get money back nevertheless we couldn't stay there because of an bee-allergy. There are many very nice cenotes nearby, but this is not -...
