This unassuming temple is the reason why people come to the site of Dzibilchaltun. The temple has one unusual feature very rarely found in Maya architecture, and that is windows, other than that the building is aligned with the solstices so the sun shines directly through the doors and windows. the temple is located about one kilometer walk from the entrance so its a bit of a trek. The road leading to the temple is an ancient Mayan "sacbe" or "white road" that used to be paved with a layer of white stucco. You will see several stelae as you are approaching the building, all of which are missing their carved details.
