Definitely worth the drive from Chișinău!
We visited the Manuc Bey Mansion as part of a day trip and were surprised by how much there is to see. It’s a beautifully restored 1800s estate with a mix of Armenian, Ottoman, Moldovan, and Romanian influence — you really feel like you’re walking through different layers of history.
The main house looks like a French chateau, and a bunch of rooms have been refurnished with new pieces that match the period style, which makes it feel pretty authentic. You get a nice glimpse of how the Moldovan nobility lived.
Some cool highlights: • Ethnographic Museum •The underground hamam (yep, an actual Turkish bath) with original stonework A tunnel that takes you from the mansion to the Yamandi House, now a museum • A Gothic-style hunting lodge — apparently the only one in all of Moldova • A quirky water tower and lots of open space to explore
