Ögii Lake is a freshwater lake in eastern Arkhangai, in central Mongolia. The lake, designated as a Ramsar Site of International Importance, is known for its fish and for birdlife. It is a stopover point for migrating waterbirds of the family Anatidae. Almost half the lake is less than 3 meters deep.

Ugii nuur is a nice spot to stop by and enjoy the scenery on your way to orkhon valley or terkhiin tsagaan nuur. I wouldn’t say it’s a must see. We stayed there for one night at Khatan Ugii camp in July, the camp was great, but there was so much dust from the vehicles passing by the lake and we were completely covered in dust in just few minutes at the shore. The Ugii lake has wonderful warm water with no huge stone when you walk into the lake. I highly recommend for swimmers this lake.
We stayed Ugii Dalai resort. This resort’s summer house and Mongolian traditional homes (ger) are quite good facilities. However, the resort’s motobike made huge noise and diesel smoke.
