I'm from Hong Kong. No one mention horseback riding and I would like to share my experience of roaming the snowy mountain peaks and lakes on horseback. The view is spectacular and breathtaking. Our local guide planned an 8-days horseback trekking trip. Each rider was accompanied by a horse boy equipped with a walkie-talkie. This is a must see national Park. The park is very clean and there are not many people around, so you will fully enjoy your visit. There is no light pollution, so you can really see the milky way galaxy at night. There are free range sheep, goats, and yaks, so the animals will come up to your campsite, but they won't bother you. You can hike up to the Potanin glacier or go by horseback. You can pay one of the locals to take you by horseback up to the glacier. By horseback, it took us 3-4 hours each way, so if you're going to hike, you should start very early in the morning.
