Whilst Zanjice looks very beautiful from a distance, close up it is really pretty rough. A sweeping large-pebbled beach (not comfortable on the feet) is ENTIRELY COVERED with white plastic sun loungers with a token little space at the end for those of us who prefer to lay on a towel. The toilets are not easy to find, meaning that the majority of tourists use the sea, which is always a lovely thought. The surrounding walkways, pontoons and other structures are entirely unpainted concrete save for a few abandoned metal structures that probably once were mini-bars or shops. A significant number of visitors probably come to Zanjice by tourist boat which is a lovely trip, but I honestly couldn't stay at Zanjice all day, it just isn't that nice. And there's the wasps - if you dare to eat or drink anything sweet, they'll be on you in a hungry and annoying yellow swarm - it was that way 20 years ago and it is still the case in 2018. The little rocky areas where you could hide from the crowds and enjoy the sea privately have now been hijacked by expensive hotels for their guests only - what a shame. Nearby (200 metres walk?) Mirista is prettier by far but is very very small and an expensive...
Read moreVisited this beach Monday 31st July. The journey from Tivat is challenging to say the least. About 40 mins of bumpy roads, difficult passing points and harpin bends. If you can cope with this and give yourselves plenty of time then the beach will make it all worthwhile. If you are using google maps to get to the beach beware, it will take you to road in the residential part of the village leading to the beach but the road will be blocked towards the bottom. You will need to be very good at 3 point turns to go back , re join the road, turn right and continue to the road leading to Zanjice & Mirista beach. Parking is good at the beaches. 3 euros. The beach to the left is Mirista which is about the size of a postage stamp. No eating or drinking on this little beach as the restaurants look as if they have the monopoly on refreshments. Lovely little spot. Zanjice beach is much better, lots of space and lots of restaurants that all look very...
Read moreWe could not rate the beach very highly. We went there by car from Kotor, in the summer season it is quite lengthy drive anywhere from 45 mind to 1,5h depending on the traffic, usually quite heavy. The road at the end is very narrow with the cars waiting for each other. There is almost no options for free parking, the paid one is about 5e for whole day, which is reasonable. The beach has very small free area, the paid amenities are 20e for 2 sunbeds and umbrella. The beach itself was quite a disappointed. Quite crowded with people coming from boat tours. The beach is pebble one with good view, but the biggest issue is the tens of boats constantly coming in and out from a small dock right next to the free zone. The water seems a bit oily from so many boats, at least in front of the free zone, and smelled a bit like petrol. Overall, it is not a bad beach, but it is definitely not worth it driving there specifically...
