We came to Tara for a day and didn’t book in advance, but were lucky to have a place with the oldest rafting company in the national park. They took us in for a 2,5 hours rafting trip for 65 euro p.p. There’s a maximum of 12 people in the boat, but we were with 6, which I really appreciated.
It was our first rafting experience, and we both enjoyed it immensely. The water in the river was low this time of year, so it was a quieter trip than it could be, but we didn’t mind. It’s not dangerous and quite appropriate for children too. Fun guaranteed! Our guide was very friendly and told us different stories and facts about river and national park. Despite him not speaking much English, we understood each other fine. We had two stops: first one at a waterfall (easy 5 min hike for great pictures and delicious mountain water) and at a place where we could jump into the river and swim. We were driven to and taken from the river back to the camp by car. Back at the camp our guide shared some organic plums with us right from the tree, a very touching gesture.
They also have rooms to stay, and the territory has cats, a very cute friendly dog, several cows and sheep. Perfect getaway from the hustling coastline into the peaceful nature reserve, thank you very much!

From the mouthwatering cuisine made with the freshest local ingredients, to the genuinely warm and welcoming atmosphere, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to make you feel at home.
The evenings were just as magical – live music, laughter echoing through the camp, and the breathtaking beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina all around (possibly the most beautiful place in the world 😉). This wasn’t just a vacation – it was an experience that touched my heart and one I’ll never forget.
Thank you, Drina-Tara Rafting Center, for the adventure of a...
Read morePerfect hosts, perfect skipper, supreme experience. Me and my dog went for rafting at the end of August. This is a perfect time to go down the river Tara with small children or a pet, because at this time of the year river is not "wild" and you can enjoy slower ride looking at the surrounding nature. We have stopped by the Snow river, shortest and quickest river in Europe and drank stone cold water from it. Then we've passed below famous Djurdjevica Tara bridge and had another stop for swimming and jumping into Tara river. This was great experience. The skipper Goran is the most experiended skipper on Tara, knows "every stone in Tara". With him guiding us this was perfectly safe run and additionally we've heard lots of beautiful stories about important points down the river. Once we've completed the run, we went for a beautiful lunch prepared out of domestic ingredients. Perfect ending of the rafting tour. I am looking forward to repeating this next year and I would suggest to all of you to...
