This is a toy town. It is beautiful in every way, especially for those of a plastic persuasion. Unfortunately money can’t buy character, soul or charm, though this hasn’t stopped the “town” from trying to accomplish this. The marina has very small but well equipped facilities that were used after staying on our yacht. But, like a plastic Barbieland, you’ll quickly realise that there is a complete lack of anything to do or see other than what’s right in front of you. When you look closely, there’s a certain amount of “unfinished” about the “town” (which it certainly isn’t), and not just the bits that are being built on the formerly scenic hill. You wouldn’t be surprised to turn a corner and find that the backdrop is actually a cardboard cutout. The “lighthouse” on the marina had AI generated artwork projected onto it at night, from a distance it was fairly pleasant, up close it was the stuff of nightmares, with dolphins grotesquely multiplying into various other sea creautes. The cake shop proudly displayed fake plastic cakes., which seemingly fit the pretentious and fake nature of Luštica. The staff at the various food and drink outlets were a mixture of friendly, judgemental and petrified, i.e point blank refusing to serve vegetarian meals from their menu, scared to act out of place for fear of retaliation from owners and generally feeling like many may have all been paid actors. God forbid you walk on the nice wide harbour wall - the staff with the eco electric golf buggy will be over in a flash to remove you, though this may be to protect you from potential falling film props from the Truman show-esque set. A once nice beach/ bay nearby is also being developed too - great if you like the gentle humming of bulldozers and depth charges blasting away the natural scenery in favour of the toy town aesthetics. To conclude, we wouldn’t recommend Luštica bay if you wanted to see real Montenegro. Oh, and by the way,...
Read moreWell, if you are a sad snob who has a little more money than others or a pensioner without children and grandchildren, then this place is for you. It is hard to imagine something more boring. After leaving your "elite" apartment, you can go left or right.. not far. Yes, you can sit in three or four local restaurants, and that's it. We arrived with our small child and tried in vain to find a playground for children. There is not a single play area and no entertainment for children! Moreover, we took a small scooter with us for our baby, because walking long distances with a three-year-old is quite difficult. A security guard came up to us and said that scooters are prohibited!!! in Lustice Bay. I asked - what, even such small ones for babies? Yes! He answered. I offered to call the police and fine us for such a terrible violation of the rules in this "super elite territory". After which he said - everything is ok. So I want to note that the people who designed this village clearly did not think about the convenience of potential residents. There are no bike paths, and the sidewalks are not equipped with ramps and ramps, we had to constantly jump from the sidewalk to the road and back with our scooter. There are no lifts or ramps for wheelchairs. There is no car wash - all these Mercedes and Range Rovers are terribly dirty parked along the street. In general, apparently, except for the money from the sold apartments and flats, the developers are not interested in anything else. I looked at the real estate websites for what is offered for sale and found a huge number of unsold apartments and flats, which is not surprising considering everything...
Read moreWell…this place is made for people with money and reminds you more of an utopian resort than a place for normal citizen. There are cameras everywhere, people look strangely to you, escpecially when you look like a tourist and as we sat on the staircase near the water a security guy came to us as the restaurant must have called him telling us to leave the staircase as its their private property (which was not signed at all (+the restaurant workers could have just spoken to us, that is just common elegant way?!)). So you are being surveilleid all the time, whereever you go and that makes this entire place very uncomfortable. However, lustica bay is worth to visit because of its beautiful design of the street, the houses, the staircases and the flora. There is also a swing with water view which is very beautiful. The place is super clean and the public toilets are 10/10. they also offer free hygiene articles in the...
