Warning! Read this before you swim there. It is where I have broken my arm TODAY, while swimming. A couple of friends invited me to that beach. We went together. I had seen bigger waves than these before, but I never had the idea to swim in those. Here, at Plages des Nations, I saw hundreds of people in the water and several of them swimming. The biggest waves, I would say, were close to 150 cm. What was also very impressive was the number of successive waves - sometimes I just had time to emerge from one that there was another one right after it. I understood that that would make me tired quite fast. After two attempts, I managed to cross all the waves and swam in that zone for about 15 minutes, beyond the waves. It was a very pleasant moment. I met other swimmers. Then I decided to go back to the shore. I was lifted up two times pretty high - the second time I even felt as if I was flying. However, the third time after being lifted up I was taken IN the wave as if I was in a washing machine and hurled to the sea floor. It was really powerful - I hadn't felt anything that powerful before. I hit the sandy floor with my right shoulder. I immediately felt the shock had been too strong for me to walk unscathed. I walked back to my friends, holding my right arm and knowing it had been broken. At the hospital, I had the confirmation: it's broken - badly so. I need to go back to my country for a surgery. What will you remember of all this? - Don't swim there. If I had fallen on my head, I would have been dead. Think about it - for yourself. Don't be the...
Read moreWe had a great experience overall here. We arrived around 7:30 AM and beach was pretty empty. We had options of tables and chairs to choose from.
Beach was clean and trash bins with empty bags were available and set up between the beach wall and the water.
They rent individually the chairs, umbrella, and table. I was with a local so she did the talking, not sure if I would have been overcharged for anything, because prices are not set in an advertisement.
A vendor set up his small stand where we purchased boiled eggs and fresh bread. They also sold soft drinks, snacks, and had available salt/cumin in a small container. Round breads cost 2 dírhams and eggs were around the same.
As you enjoy the beach, different vendors selling: beach toys, tea/coffee, briwat filled with allegedly fish, chicken, beef with Chinese vermicelli (they all tasted exactly the same lol) cost 3 dírhams each… they were tasty though :)
Also vendors selling candy and bini donuts. The bini guy owed me 10 dírhams as he did not have change and he never came back…
They told me they had restrooms but we didn’t need them, but the cost to use was 5 dírhams each.
All in all we had a great experience and...
Read moreFirst of all this is a nice yet average beach , i sincerely couldn't say that it's one the most beautiful ones I've been to ,however it's worth visiting for a nice day with family or friends. The beach itself is very long it goes as long as approximately 10 km . There is the known and mostly full section of the beach which consists of the normal beach things(lot of people, lot of umbrellas) but its has lifeguards and different establishments like restaurants(which perceived by most as kind of expensive)and WCs. The second section is more wild yet more empty and peaceful most of the time even in summer however this section has no lifeguards and the waves there are a little bite higher than the densely populated section before. if you want to go there as your peaceful destination for the day don't forget to bring with you everything of convenience you'll need there like an umbrella...
