Cave Win Timdwin — Attraction in caïdat d'Amskroud

The cave was interesting to see and learn about although you can't really see that much of it. The security guard at the gate was initially very kind and offered us tea and let us up to see the caves. When we drove back down he opened the gate for us to leave and we gave him some money for his kindness and hospitality. When my husband, who is from Morocco, gave him the money, the guard told him it was 70 dirhams to enter because they use mules to carry peoples things up. We didn't use any mules because we had our car and we told him this (which he already knew) and then he changed it to 40 dirhams to enter. He said the money my husband gave him was not nearly enough, he said it was nothing, and threw it back at us so it fell on the ground. He did not inform us there was an entrance fee upon arrival and it didn't say there was an entrance fee anywhere on the signs. It really stained the initially pleasant experience and made us not want to return or recommend it to others. The trip to Cave Win Timdwin is quite an adventure. From Agadir, you pass through Amskroud, then take a regional road that’s narrow, full of curves, and a bit challenging. At the entrance, you’ll find a parking area (not free, but reasonably priced), where you leave your car and continue on foot for about 20–30 minutes depending on your pace. If needed, you can rent a mule for around 70 dh.

The site itself is clean, though not very large. There are shaded spots where you can sit, relax, and even cook a tajine or BBQ if you plan to spend a few hours or the whole day. The cave itself opens for about 70 meters before being closed off by an iron door, but the surrounding atmosphere is serene and refreshing. A natural pool fed by the cave’s water is perfect for swimming and adds to the charm of the place.
