Targant - Musée de l'arganier — Attraction in caïdat de Taghazout

This first Argan Museum is the highlight of our short stay in Taghazout, Abir professionally and kindly informed me ahead of our visit about the kind of tour and visit that i wish to do. Then our tour guide Soukaina introduced us to everything we needed to know about Argan trees: from the roots to the role of the thorns during droughts, to the oldest argan tree (spoiler alert!) to the challenges & the roles that the locals play in preserving this UNESCO protected tree though millennial art, science, genius, sustainable relationship that locals have developed without ever wasting anything….( you will most certainly smile when you learn more that meets the eye about this famous tree once you book your tour!) oh i forgot the tasting was delicious & fresh! An excellent experience, enjoyable way to learn about the local Argan economy and the central role it plays in regional culture. Each group is taken through by a guide; ours was excellent: knowledgeable and very engaging with our daughter so she enjoyed it quite a bit. They even have a live demonstration area with some of the local women harvesting Argan in the traditional way. Takes about an hour, plus any extra time if you wish to stay for lunch or dinner in their beautiful al fresco restaurant that uses Argan products in the cuisine.
