Zoological Garden — Attraction in Maputo

The Zoological Garden used to be one of the best if not the best attraction for kids as well as people of different ages, living or visiting Maputo, as they learned to see, for the first time, several species of live wildlife. The Zoos overall, are the only place in the world where the prisioners are innocent. I won't elaborate much but this zoo is completely neglected. Major structural and administrative reforms are urgently needed. The few animals that are surviving there, are either starving or depressed. Honestly, it could be better. The potential is there, but the animal care, space organization, and overall experience leave much to be desired. Security is also lacking. I witnessed children climbing monkey cages and throwing objects at the crocodiles, which was really upsetting. On a positive note, parking is available and affordable, and the entrance fee is low.
