Wonderful historic four huge buddha images in four opposite directions. The Kyaik Pun Pagoda is a small Buddhist monastery near the town of Bago, known for its four towering images of the Buddha visible from far away. The impressive 27 meter high images are out in the open, without shelter from the elements by any covering temple structure. The Kyaik Pun Pagoda was built in 1476 by Dhammazedi, a devout Buddhist and King of the Mon Kingdom of Hanthawaddy (Pegu). The Kyaik Pun Pagoda or Kyaikpun Paya is an active place of worship; the images are highly revered by Laotian Buddhists who come to pay their respect.

วัดเจดีย์ไจ๊ปุ่น มีอายุกว่า 500 ปี เป็นวัดที่สร้างเป็นพระพุทธรูปปางมารวิชัยขนาดใหญ่ 4 องค์ หันพระพักตร์ไปทุกทิศ แทนความหมายถึงพระพุทธเจ้าทั้งสี่พระองค์ มีตำนานเล่าว่า พระราชธิดาทั้งสี่องค์ของกษัตริย์มอญที่อุทิศตนแด่พุทธศาสนา จึงสร้างพระพุทธรูปแทนตนเองและได้สาบานไว้ว่าจะไม่ข้องแวะกับบุรุษเพศ ต่อมาน้องสาวคนสุดท้อง กลับพบรักกับชายหนุ่มและแต่งงานกัน จึงเกิดอาเพศฟ้าผ่าพระพุทธรูปที่แทนตัวของน้องสาวคนสุดท้องพังทลายลงมา จนต้องมีการสร้างขึ้นมาใหม่ตามที่เห็นในปัจจุบัน โดยพระพุทธรูปองค์นี้จะมีลักษณะแตกต่างจากองค์อื่น ๆ คือจะเป็นศิลปะแบบพม่า มองด้วยตาเปล่าก็จะสังเกตุเห็นได้ชัดเจนเพราะลักษณะรูปหน้าโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง พระนาสิกจะนูนโด่งมีมิติมากกว่าพระพุทธรูปอีกสามองค์ซึ่งสร้างขึ้นมาตามศิลปะแบบมอญก่อนหน้านี้ ซึ่งจะมีมิติที่แบนกว่าตั้งแต่พระพักตร์ลงมา

Bago, antica capitale dello stato Mon, gode di un'infinità di monumenti , pagode , buddha giganti , è davvero un museo a cielo aperto dove ogni strada, angolo nasconde qualcosa di ineressante. Kyaik Pun Pagoda si trova nel centro di Bago ed è particolare perchè l'attrazione principale è rappresentata da un enorme struttura con sezione quadrata alta 27 metri, posta in posizione centrale in cui sono presenti 4 buddha seduti posti schiena contro schiena. Nel complesso sono presenti anche una serie di pagode dorate realizzate in tipico stile Mon. Merita una visita durante la visita di Bago. Anche qui, come nelle altre pagode, si entra dopo aver pagato il biglietto di ingresso e si cammina scalzi.

It's in a village area. Four Buddha idols in sitting posture are placed on a high platform. There is ample of parking space. Entry fee is there.But there's no good hotel for food. Many handicrafts are available here.
