Maungmagan is famous for a long time. It has more clear sea water than Setse and Kabyar Wa beaches but Horse Shoe Beach has the clearest sea water around Dawei. Maungmagan has softer sand, wide sand bank and long coast. Very good to play water and safety for the children and the people who cannot swim. It's a large crowded beach. There're plenty of restaurants and fisher boats. It's not the best beach in Dawei but the sunsets are absolutelly amazing. It really worth it to go there at 4pm to see it.

There are better beaches in the surrounding area, but they are harder to get to. If you're looking for an ok experience that's not too far from Dawei, then this is a good one. One highlight is seeing the local fishing boats come in...
