Rih Dïl, also known as Rih Li is a beautiful heart-shaped lake that is located 22 km inside Myanmar. The lake is approximately one mile in length and half a mile in width. This lake is believed to be the passage to heaven for the souls of the dead. A strange feature of the lake is that its South West floor happens to be deeper than the north-west and that it gets deep abruptly immediately after the edge of the water.

There are several folktales which surround this amazing and picturesque lake. Ril Dïl is a rarely visited place even today because of the difficulty to access this region. Yet, public bus facility has been provided from the Indo-Myanmar gate which will take you to the Rih. One can also get permission to visit the lake from the Deputy Commissioner's office...

From here, you will have great view to the lake. Cannot ignore this place when you visit Rih Lake. In fact, the way to get here is really difficult because the roads are so bad, dirty and can make you so tired. Some Indians are more easy to go here by passing the border through the bridge connecting two countries. But if you are Burmese or foreigner living in other Regions or States in Myanmar, it will be the big trip to save your footage at this beautiful place. Army control the highest position to have the best view looking down the lake. You can ask them to get in the compound, but depend on your possibility in convincing...

The famed Rih Dil, the lake. Went there last month October. Situated in Myanmar territory but dearly held in the heart by the Mizos of both sides of the land India and Myanmar.

Place needs more infrastructure and planning.

It’s a good place to visit. One of the famous lake in Mizo folklore. History of Mizo is incomplete without Rih Dil.

Some may say it’s a quite and boring place but I recommend you visit.

Went there from Champhai , Mizoram, by Bike. They sell Alcohol and beer. There is a restaurant and a bar. And...

It was my first time visiting Rihdil and the view is stunning. We got there early in the morning and there were only two other people around which made it super peaceful having the place to ourselves. We had to take a scooter from the border since cars weren’t allowed to cross but the price was a bit high, they charged us 500 per person for a 10 minute ride which felt expensive. Apart from that the place is amazing, full of history and we really enjoyed it
