The biggest buddha's I've seen was the Big Buddha in Phuket.. Win Sein Taw Ya made that buddha look like a baby in terms of size. This reclining Buddha is MASSIVE and they're building a second one right next to it.
This landmark has obvious issues which I'll detail below but the sheer size and the awe I was in looking at it justifies a 5 star.
I'm not sure if it was due to lack of funding but the inside of the first Buddha is FAR from done. There were 3+ floors and from the head to the foot there were rooms of sculptures telling a story. There are some complete rooms where the sculptures are done along with their paint job. However, the vast majority of the rooms aren't painted or are completely empty. What would make it more enjoyable are signs that indicate what we're looking at but instead you are left to wander all the floors, not knowing whether the stories connect from front to back, top to bottom or vice versa or if they even connect at all so you loose interest.
Either way! It's a sight to see and trust me.. you'll see it far from...
