Lovely falls and scenery. Unfortunately, I went in the dry season so it wasn’t as spectacular as in peak rainy season. The place hasn’t been maintained in decades. The steps down are dangerously crooked & collapsed in sections. Be very careful. If you enter from Angola don’t have a Namibian visa (or just a single-entry Angolan visa), the immigration staff on both sides are friendly and will allow you cross - even without $$$ (results may vary).

Here, you are close to the Ruacana Fallls. The Kunene river, a border river between Namibia and Angola, plunges into a 120 meter deep and 700 meter wide gorge which forms the Ruacana Falls. The waterfall used to be 120 meters (390 ft) high and 700 meters (2,300 ft) wide in full flood. Before it was used for producing power at the power plant, it was among the largest waterfalls in Africa, both by volume and width.

Echo with all the other reviews - the views are spectacular and well worth the trip! Sadly the environment is polluted with bottles and cans. And the stairs have become unsafe to descend. (still possible if you are careful and use the side to go down) I don't know how long it will still be safe and accessible to public.

Ruacana Falls, located in northern Namibia, is a magnificent natural wonder that captivates visitors with its grandeur. Dropping approximately 120 meters (390 feet), this waterfall is a testament to the raw power of nature.

Travelers often express awe at the breathtaking views of Ruacana Falls, set amidst the arid beauty of the Namibian landscape. The cascade of water, especially during the wet season, is a sight to behold, and the surrounding cliffs and vegetation add to the picturesque setting.

Visitors recommend taking in the falls from multiple viewpoints to fully appreciate their splendor. However, it's essential to consider the season when planning your visit, as water flow can vary significantly. Some travelers prefer the wetter months for a more dramatic display, while others enjoy the contrast of the falls against the drier landscape during the dry season.

Overall, Ruacana Falls offers a unique and awe-inspiring natural experience for those exploring Namibia's remote and...
