A site with great historical importance. The place is linked with the starting of the Shah Dynasty that ruled over Nepal until monarchy was abolished recently. It was the palace of the King of Lamjung, yashobrahma Shah, who was the son of Kulamandal Shah Khand, the king of Kaski. Since there was no King in Lamjung at the time, the people went to Kaski to request Kulamandal Shah to allow them to choose one among the princes of Kaski to be taken to Lamjung Kingdom and crowned as their King. Yashobrahma Shah was chosen and taken to Lamjung by Khajedura of Duradanda and was crowned the King of Lamjung. the descendant of Yashobrahma Shah, Drabya Shah later became the King of Gorkha by winning an annual race that took place for selection of King of Gorkha every year.
