Unfortunately, due to insufficient publicity, Kichakbadh, a popular tourist attraction in Jhapa, has been largely forgotten. Kichakbadh temple is located in the southern part of Bhadrapur district on a plot of 10 bigaha. If properly promoted, Kichakbadh will undoubtedly become one of the most popular tourist hotspots in the east.
Kichhak, a character from the Mahabharata, was executed for displaying a negative disposition towards the Pandava queen Draupadi, from whom the region takes its name. At Kichakbadh you will find two statues, both showing Bhimsen killing Kichak. At the main entrance is a massive gate known as Kichakavad Prabesh Dwar. A kilometer separates this gate from Kichakavadh. On the wall of the mandir is written that King Mahendra commissioned its construction.
