Meet Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world at 26,781 feet/8,163 meters, located in a restricted region of Nepal due to its proximity with the border to Tibet. Although traveling to this area used to be very difficult, itโ€™s becoming easier, although the permits are still more costly and complicated to acquire than those for other regions. The circuit trek around Manaslu is remote and wild and so beautiful. The first several days follow the Buri Gandaki, a deep river gorge, via many suspension bridges through the jungle. Many monkeys were spotted. ๐Ÿ’ On our day 4, we got our first actual sighting of Manasluโ€™s peak as the scenery changed to alpine as we crossed above the tree line. On our โ€œrestโ€ day, we hiked to Manaslu Base Camp and were rewarded with 360 degree views of the surrounding peaks and lakes. Finally, after a short night at our highest elevation, we crossed the high pass Larkya La over 17,000 feet/5,100 meters with our micro spikes and cold weather gear. We walked as the sun rose and began to see glaciers and peaks surrounding us. All along the way, the path takes you through many villages, past monasteries and thousands of mani stones with Buddhist texts, by rice terraces and towering waterfalls, and over rivers and canyons via suspension bridges. Everest is not the only thing to see in Nepal!!! #nepaltrip #manaslu #himalayamountains

Visiting Manaslu Base Camp was an unforgettable experience that blended natural beauty, cultural richness, and personal challenge. The trek offered stunning landscapes at every turn from lush forests and roaring rivers to high-altitude passes and snow-covered peaks. Unlike the more commercial trekking routes, the Manaslu region felt remote and peaceful, allowing for a deeper connection with nature and local life. The trail took us through traditional villages influenced by Tibetan culture, where the hospitality of the locals made the journey even more meaningful. Reaching the base camp, surrounded by the towering presence of Mt. Manaslu, was both humbling and awe-inspiring a moment that made every step of the trek worthwhile. The experience tested our endurance, especially while crossing the Larkya La Pass, but the reward was a sense of achievement and serenity that's hard to describe. I highly recommend the Manaslu Base Camp trek to anyone seeking a less-crowded, truly immersive Himalayan adventure.

What a stunning location nestled beneath the towering Mt. Manaslu offering a breathtaking view of vast expanse of Himalayan ranges. This includes the picturesque vistas of Pangboche, Kayang, Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, Budhha Himal, Manaslu, Naike Peak, and many more. I am a trekking guide, feel free to ask me any question regarding Manaslu Base Camp.
