Read moreI completed one of the most challenging and rewarding treks of my life: the ascent of Kyanjin Ri (4773m) in the Langtang region of Nepal. Kyanjin Ri is a small hill that lies just above the village of Kyanjin Gompa, the final destination of the Langtang Valley trek. It is a steep and strenuous climb that takes about 3 to 4 hours from the village, but the reward is well worth the effort.
From the summit of Kyanjin Ri, I was greeted by a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan mountains, including Langtang Lirung (7227m), Changbu (6251m), Yubra (6264m), Tserko Peak (5749m), Naya Kanga (5844m), and Kangja La Himal. The scenery was so stunning that I felt like I was in a dream. I could see the entire valley below me, with the winding river, the green pastures, and the colorful prayer flags. I could also see the glaciers and moraines of the Langtang Lirung Glacier, which looked like a frozen river of ice and rocks.
I spent about an hour at the top, taking photos, videos, and soaking in the beauty of nature. I felt a sense of awe and gratitude for being able to witness such a magnificent sight. I also felt a sense of accomplishment and pride for pushing myself to the limit and reaching the highest point of the trek. It was a moment that I will never forget.
The descent was much easier and faster than the ascent, and I was back in Kyanjin Gompa by noon. I had a delicious lunch at a local lodge, where I met some fellow trekkers and exchanged stories. I also visited the nearby cheese factory, where I tasted some of the best yak cheese in Nepal. I spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the views from the village.
The next day, I started my journey back to Syabrubesi, where I took a bus to Kathmandu. I was sad to leave the Langtang Valley, but I was also happy to have completed such an amazing trek. I learned a lot about myself, the culture, and the environment of this region. I made some new friends, some unforgettable memories, and some incredible photos. I can say without a doubt that Kyanjin Ri was the highlight of my trip, and one of the best...
