Indra Sarobar Dam Indra Sarobar Dam is famous by other names Indra Sarobar Lake or Kulekhani Dam. It is the first and largest man-made Lake or Dam in Nepal. The construction of the dam began in the year 1977. After continuous work for 5 years, in the year 1982, the construction of the dam was finished and inaugurated in the same year. This dam was created by Nepal Electricity Authority to produce electricity. However, it turned out to be a popular tourist destination after the formation of the artificial lake. The dam is of length approximately 397 meters and 114 meters deep. This dam can run three hydropower stations. They are Kulekhani I Hydropower Station, Kulekhani II Hydropower Station, and Kulekhani III Hydropower Station. Overall, Kulekhani Dam produces 106 KW of electricity.
