Review of Shree Bhringareshwor Mahadev – A Timeless Symbol of Divine Power
Shree Bhringareshwor Mahadev is one of Nepal’s most revered and ancient Shiva shrines, deeply rooted in both mythology and recorded history. Revered as a manifestation of Lord Shiva predating even the sacred Pashupatinath, this Shivalinga holds immense spiritual significance. According to the Gopal Raj Vamshavali, Shree Bhringareshwor is one of the Chatuh-Shasti (64) Siddha Jyotirlingas revealed before Pashupatinath itself.
The shrine is referenced in key Hindu scriptures including the Skanda Purana and Reksha Puran, while archaeological evidence from the Lichhavi and Malla periods — including multiple stone inscriptions — confirm its ancient origins. Unique among Shivlingas, Bhringareshwor is associated with the Brahma community, with both the Linga and Jalhari (base) said to originate from Brahma himself.
Also known by various names such as Bhringeshwor, Subarneshwar, and Bhringershwer, the temple is believed to bless devotees with peace, prosperity, and relief from mental distress. The energy and tranquility surrounding the site have made it a place of pilgrimage and spiritual awakening.
In every legend, manuscript, and inscription, Shree Bhringareshwor Mahadev stands out as a powerful and compassionate force, continuing to bless devotees across generations with divine grace and fulfillment of...
